notes from an urban hibernation

Paris : Simon Cutts & Erica Van Horn

Portes of Paris II

350px-Boulevard_périphérique_de_ParisI will have to update the Portes listing since it seems like I don’t have them all, and in spite of what I said previously, they seem pretty evenly distributed around the clock. I have left out Porte de Bercy as  it seems to be all railway track from my map, and I have included Porte d’Arcueil, not on the above map, as this may well have been the route that Erik Satie walked nightly on his way to the Chat Noir. Erica and I did this back in the 1990’s                                                                                                                                                                                 Today we came in from Porte de la Chapelle, a pretty uneventful straight line north to south, passing by the Gare du Nord. Two days ago we arrived from the Porte de Clignacourt, much more scenic, over the hill of Montmartre.SC
