The pharmacist gave me ointment for my knee. As I was waiting for the it to dry after my intial application, I looked at the instruction sheet. It was a long and complex document. There were drawings underneath the advice about how much to use. For one kind of condition the written notes advised 2.5 g or a ribbon 6 cm long. For another kind of condition the dose was more in the order of 4 g or a ribbon of 10 cm. The ribbons of ointment were drawn as wavy grey areas as thick as they might be if they came out of the tube. The squeezing of the tube did not give me anything that looked like these exact and even wavy ribbons. It just gave me a blob of gel. I have no idea how much I am using. Both weight and length are impossible to measure.EVH
